Egypt decries Israel's power cuts to Palestine's Gaza Egypt has denounced an Israeli decision to cut off electricity to Gaza, reaffirming its complete rejection of "collective punishment” policies pursued by Tel Aviv. Egypt “condemns Israel’s act of cutting off electricity to Gaza, which constitutes a new violation of international humanitarian law,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Israel provided Gaza with only 5 MW of electricity before power cut Israel provided Gaza with only five megawatts of electricity since last November before its recent decision to cut off power to the enclave, a Palestinian spokesman has said. “These five megawatts were used solely to operate a desalination facility in central Gaza after interventions by international and UN agencies,” Mohammad Thabet, a spokesman of the Gaza Electricity Distribution Company, has said. He said the Palestinian enclave’s actual needs for electricity are estimated at around 500 megawatts per hour.

Gaza war fuels rise in Islamophobia in US: report The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), one of the largest Muslim civil rights groups in the US, reported a 7.4 percent increase in incidents of discrimination and attacks against Muslims following the Israeli war on Gaza. In a report on incidents last year, CAIR noted that 2024 saw the highest number of complaints on anti-Muslim and anti-Arab incidents, totaling 8,658.

Gaza rescuers say Israeli air strike kills four An Israeli air strike hit Gaza City, with the civil defence agency reporting four men were killed. Mahmud Bassal, spokesman for the Gaza civil defence agency, told AFP that the Israeli strike "on a group of citizens in the Netzarim area in south Gaza City" resulted in "four martyrs including two brothers", all men in their 20s.

Israeli military conduct deadly raids in the northern West BankThree Palestinians were killed in an ongoing Israeli military raid in the northern West Bank, the Health Ministry said. A ministry statement said that two people were shot dead by Israeli forces at dawn in Jenin city. A 58-year-old woman also lost her life to Israeli fire in the same city. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said earlier that its teams had received the body of a Palestinian woman from the Israeli army at the Jalameh checkpoint, north of Jenin city.
