Hamas says Israel is putting lives of captives at risk in Gaza

Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas, has warned that the lives of Israeli captives are at risk as Israel orders all Palestinians to flee from the areas.

"Half of the living Israeli prisoners are located in areas in which the Israeli occupation army has requested to be evacuated in recent days," spokesman Abu Obaida said in a statement.

He noted that his group decided "not to transfer these prisoners from these areas, and to keep them under strict security measures, which are extremely dangerous to their lives," without disclosing further information.

"If the enemy is concerned about the lives of these prisoners, they must immediately negotiate their evacuation or release," he said.

Abu Obaida held Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s extremist government responsible "for the lives of the prisoners," adding if Israel committed to a January ceasefire "most of them would probably be in their homes today."

Israel backs displacement of Palestinians from occupied West Bank: Israeli groups

The Israeli government is sponsoring violence by illegal settlers to displace Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, two rights groups have said.

A report by Yesh Din and Physicians for Human Rights Israel (PHRI), two Israeli groups, said the Israeli government "is responsible for the commission of the war crime of forcible transfer of Palestinians in the West Bank."

"This crime is committed with the state’s support, by its agents or citizens," it said.

"In less than two years, about 100,000 dunams (24,710 acres) of land east of Allon Road have been almost completely emptied of the Palestinians who lived on it for decades," according to the report.

It added the displacement of the Palestinians "was not a voluntary departure, but a forcible transfer effected by a combination of factors: years of institutional oppression, daily physical violence, invasive psychological terror, and catastrophic economic harm."

Thousands stage rallies in Syria to protest Israeli bombardment on Daraa

Thousands have joined rallies in different areas across Syria to protest the Israeli ground attacks in Daraa province which left at least nine people dead.

Activists in southern Suwayda city, where the majority of the population is from the Druze religious community, held a vigil in solidarity with their people in Daraa province, condemning Israeli aggression on the province a few days ago, according to a statement by the Suwayda governor's office.

"Syrian blood is one, and the defence of the country is a must on every free Syrian," read one of the banners during the vigil.

The activists also slammed the international silence on the Israeli aggression.

Israel kills 6 more Palestinians in new Gaza strikes

Six Palestinians, including a young girl, have been killed in Israeli air strikes targeting residential homes and civilian gatherings in Gaza, as the Israeli army unrelentingly continues its genocidal war on the Palestinian enclave.

A medical source told Anadolu that three people were killed in an air strike on a home in Rafah, while two were killed in a strike on a group of people in Khan Younis in the south.

A girl was killed in the Zeitoun neighbourhood in eastern Gaza City, as the army targeted her home.

Witnesses, meanwhile, reported intense strikes on the Al-Sanati area in Abasan town in eastern Khan Younis, though no casualties were confirmed.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to escalate attacks on Gaza as he tries to implement US President Donald Trump's plan to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from the enclave.

Egypt said to have presented new truce, prisoner swap proposal

Israeli media have reported that Egypt submitted a new proposal for a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza, along with a prisoner exchange.

Israeli public broadcaster KAN reported that Cairo "has put forward a new proposal regarding a ceasefire and prisoner exchange, aiming to bridge the gaps between Israel and Hamas."

It noted that "the new proposal was submitted by Egypt within the past 24 hours to reach a consensus between Israel and Hamas."

While the broadcaster did not mention any terms or details, it, however, said the proposal falls somewhere between the original mediators' — Egypt and Qatar — offer, which included the release of five living prisoners, and Israel’s proposal, which conditioned the release of 11 living prisoners in Gaza.

Egypt has yet to comment on the report. Israel estimates that 59 hostages are still held in Gaza, with at least 22 alive.

Israeli general condemns West Bank Zionists' riot, 'vandalism' by troops

The Israeli military's top commander in the occupied West Bank has condemned recent violence by Israeli Zionist settlers against police and "unacceptable" conduct by soldiers, in a video shared by the army.

A military statement said that Major General Avi Bluth addressed a "series of unusual incidents" while visiting Israeli police officers in the occupied West Bank, near the site of a riot involving Zionist settlers earlier this week.

Israeli police said they had arrested 17 suspects over the "violent riot" on Wednesday near the settlement outpost of Givat Habaladim, northeast of the Palestinian city of Ramallah, during which Israeli settlers threw stones at officers and torched a police car.

Bluth "emphasised that these are exceptional incidents that must be addressed with the necessary severity", the military statement said.

Israel claims to intercept drone 'from the east'

The Israeli army has claimed to have intercepted a drone that was fired on Israel from the eastern direction.

An Israeli military statement said its air defences intercepted a drone launched "from the east," without specifying its origin.

No air-raid sirens were activated in Israel, as the drone was downed in the southern part of the country.

While no group claimed responsibility, Israeli media cited military sources as estimating that the launch was likely from Yemen.
