An Israeli infantry unit crossed the border into southern Lebanon, entering recreational areas in the town of Wazzani, according to a report by Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).
“A hostile infantry unit crossed the border and entered the Wazzani park area,” the agency said in a brief statement, without elaborating further on the incursion or any ensuing response.
The latest incident follows an Israeli drone strike on Thursday that targeted construction equipment in Aita al-Shaab, another town along the tense Israel-Lebanon border.
Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE called for a debate on Israel’s participation in Eurovision song contest, citing public concern over the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
In a letter to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), RTVE President Jose Pablo Lopez reaffirmed Spain’s commitment to the contest but urged the organisation to acknowledge and discuss the public’s unease regarding Israel’s inclusion via its broadcaster KAN.
The UN warned that Israel's latest evacuation orders are leaving Palestinians with shrinking space to live in Gaza, further worsening the humanitarian crisis in the enclave.
In a news conference, UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said that Israel issued “two new displacement orders covering vast areas in northern and southern Gaza."
The president of the Red Cross described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as "hell on earth" and warned that its field hospital will run out of supplies within two weeks.
"We are now finding ourselves in a situation that I have to describe as hell on earth ...People don't have access to water, electricity, food, in many parts," Mirjana Spoljaric told Reuters at the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva.
No new humanitarian supplies have entered the Palestinian enclave since Israel blocked the entry of aid trucks on March 2, as talks stalled on the next stage of a now-broken truce. Israel resumed its military assault on March 18.
The Israeli army said one of its soldiers was "seriously wounded" in southern Gaza.
The injured soldier has been taken to hospital, a military statement said.
Thousands of Israeli military and academic figures have joined a petition calling for an end to the war in Gaza and the release of captives, Israeli media reported.
The petition has been signed by 2,000 faculty members from higher education institutions, 100 military doctors, and hundreds of reserve soldiers and officers in Israel's 8200 intelligence unit, according to reports by Israeli Army Radio and Channels 12 and 13.
The Israeli war on Lebanon between caused more than $700 million in agricultural damage and losses, a report from the United Nations and Lebanese authorities said.
"The agriculture sector in Lebanon has incurred an estimated $118 million in damages and $586 million in losses," said the assessment by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization with Lebanon's agriculture ministry and the National Council for Scientific Research.

Hundreds of soldiers and reserve officers from various Israeli military branches, including the air force and navy, signed letters in recent days advocating for a ceasefire in exchange for the return of Israeli hostages.
Germany reaffirmed that a Palestinian state should be achieved through negotiations and not unilateral recognition, only days after French President Emmanuel Macron said he could formally recognise Palestine's statehood in June.
“The German government's position on this issue has not changed. It is and remains the goal of German foreign policy for Palestine to eventually exist as an independent state alongside Israel. This must be pursued within the framework of a negotiated two-state solution,” Christian Wagner, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson, told a press briefing in Berlin.
A meeting of the Arab-Islamic committee on Gaza, held in Antalya, Türkiye, once again rejected any attempt to forcibly displace the population of Gaza and called for an immediate ceasefire in the region, according to official statements from participating countries.
The meeting addressed "developments in Gaza, intensifying joint efforts to confront all Israeli violations of international law and humanitarian law, as well as serious violations against the Palestinian people, and rejecting all attempts of displacement, including those created by policies that make life unbearable for the Palestinian people as an attempt at forced displacement."
