Former London detective clashes with million pound shoplifter
Shoplifting is sweeping Britain: the Office for National Statistics says shoplifting offences rose by 23% on the year before - but many cases aren't getting reported. With overcrowded prisons and high streets across the country affected, Britain's shoplifting epidemic has forced police and retailers to look at what's needed to tackle the problem once and for all. Is any prison sentence long enough to deter shoplifters? What compels people to steal in the first place? And how can business owners prevent theft? To try and find an answer, Nick is joined by Shadow Policing Minister Matt Vickers, former Scotland Yard Detective Peter Bleksley, CEO of the British Independent Retailers Association Andrew Goodacre and reformed shoplifter Kim Farry - who stole over £2 million worth of goods over the course of her career.
