Syria's post-Assad national emblem unveiled
Syria's new coat of arms was launched on July 3 with an official ceremony in Damascus, "reflecting Syria’s new historical phase."

The announcement came amid transitions following the nearly 25-year of Assad regime and into a new political phase led by President Ahmed al Sharaa.

The adoption of the new emblem will be followed by the replacing of national ID cards and passports.

Nationwide festivities marking the launch of the country’s new identity were held in major city squares.
