Hamas agrees to new Gaza truce proposal received from mediators

A top Hamas official said the Palestinian resistance group approved a new Gaza ceasefire proposal put forth by mediators, urging Israel to back it but warning the group's weapons were a "red line".

"Two days ago, we received a proposal from the mediating brothers in Egypt and Qatar. We dealt with it positively and approved it. We hope that the occupation (Israel) will not obstruct it," Khalil al-Haya said in a televised address for the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr.

"The weapons of the resistance are a red line," he added.

Israeli Air Force ends lectures of professor who called army soldiers ‘baby murderers’

The Israeli Air Force has terminated the lectures of a professor who called army soldiers “baby murderers.”

According to the Israeli state television, the lectures of Sebastian Ben Daniel, a professor in the computer science department at Ben-Gurion University, were abolished by the Air Force.

The move came after Ben Daniel described Israeli army forces as “baby murderers” in posts on his social media account.

Israeli military begins 'ground activity' to extend 'security zone' in southern Gaza

The Israeli military said on Saturday it had begun "ground activity" in the Jneina neighbourhood of Rafah to expand what it described as the security zone in southern Gaza.

On March 18, Israel resumed bombing and ground operations in Hamas which it said were intended to increase pressure on the Palestinian resistance to release captives.

Israel seized 12,800 acres of land in occupied West Bank Since Oct. 7: Palestinian Authority

The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission on Saturday said that Israeli authorities have seized more than 52,000 dunams (12,800 acres) of Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023.

In a statement marking the anniversary of Land Day, the commission reported that since the start of the war in Gaza, Israel has issued 13 military orders to establish buffer zones around illegal settlements and has created 60 new illegal settler outposts across the occupied West Bank.

Of the 52,000 dunams confiscated, 46,000 dunams (11,400 acres) were seized in 2024 alone under various pretexts, including the designation of land as nature reserves, state land, and military zones.

Israel disrupts search for missing rescue team in Rafah: Palestinian Red Crescent

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that Israeli forces are obstructing efforts to locate nine missing medical workers in Rafah’s Tel al-Sultan neighbourhood in southern Gaza.

The group said it lost contact with its team during operations in the area and has been unable to confirm their status despite ongoing search efforts.

According to the statement, Israel has barred rescue teams from entering the zone to search for the missing staff.

Israel issues evacuation orders for Palestinian civilians in Khan Younis ahead of attacks

The Israeli army issued immediate evacuation orders on Saturday for Palestinian civilians in three towns in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis amid a deadly onslaught on the enclave.

Military spokesman Avichay Adraee said that Palestinians must leave their areas in the towns of Abasan, al-Qarara, and Khuza'a, calling the three towns “dangerous combat zones.”

“You must immediately move westward toward the shelter centers in the al-Mawasi area,” Adraee said, claiming rocket fire from the targeted areas.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said that the fate of nine crew members in Gaza remains unknown nearly a week after Israeli forces had hit ambulances.

The Israeli military said troops had opened fired on ambulances after identifying them as "suspicious vehicles", in an incident on Sunday in southern Gaza that authorities condemned as a "war crime", reporting at least one person killed.
