Israeli Retired General Noam Tibon, whose brother is among the Israeli hostages held in Gaza, criticised Israel's military strategy, stating it failed to free hostages.
In an interview with Maariv newspaper, Tibon stressed that military pressure alone had not worked.
“For a year and a half, we were told that military pressure alone would bring the hostages back, but during this time, 41 hostages were killed by Hamas or in air strikes by Israeli forces. In the end, it was a deal that brought the hostages home," Tibon said.
He also underlined that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu chose not to implement the second phase of truce deal, citing political reasons, coalition interests and budgetary concerns. the
