The Palestinian government in besieged Gaza condemned an Israeli air strike on the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City.

The Gaza Media Office said Israel committed another horrific crime by bombing the hospital, which housed hundreds of patients, the wounded and medical staff.

Turkish deputy foreign minister Nuh Yilmaz stressed that Israel is acting as a "strategic destabiliser" in the region and is benefiting from the situation.

Israel expands its ground invasion in eastern Gaza City

The Israeli army expanded its ground invasion in Gaza City to include neighbourhoods in the eastern part of the city.

"The forces are expanding ground operations to the al-Daraj and al-Tuffah neighbourhoods" in Gaza City, the military said in a statement.

Israeli forces "began operating in these two neighbourhoods last night with the aim of deepening operational control in the area and expanding the defensive security zone," it said.

Over 60,000 children aged five and under in besieged Gaza are facing malnutrition, according to the UN special coordinator for the Middle East peace process.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency at Türkiye's Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF), Sigrid Kaag said the humanitarian aid sent to the region through the UN during the January 19 ceasefire reached those in need without any problems, but that since March 2, "aid has not been allowed in."

Kaag also said the equipment needed by aid workers in the region to do their work is insufficient, and the fuel needed to run hospitals has run out, adding that there were also disruptions in the distribution of humanitarian aid due to insufficient fuel and equipment.
