Solution to get food aid to Gaza is ‘steps away’, US claims

The US State Department said a solution to be able to deliver food aid to Gaza was "steps away" and an announcement was coming shortly, although it fell short of detailing what the plan would entail.

European leaders and aid groups have criticised Israeli plans to take over distribution of humanitarian aid in Gaza and use private companies to get food to families after two months in which the military has prevented supplies from entering the enclave.

Israel has given few details of its aid plans.

Israel dropped 100,000 tons of explosives over Gaza, wiped out 2,200 families: authorities

Israel has dropped 100,000 tons of explosives on Gaza since launching its genocide 19 months ago, killing or leaving missing over 62,000 Palestinians and committing more than 12,000 massacres, the Gaza government media office said.

Israel carried out over 12,000 massacres, including 11,926 against Palestinian household members, completely erasing 2,200 families and 6,350 people from civil registries, it stated.

The campaign also targeted cemeteries, with Israeli forces stealing 2,300 bodies from Gaza graves and establishing seven mass graves inside hospitals, 529 of whom have been recovered so far.

Regarding the health crisis, the office reported over 2.1 million cases of infectious diseases caused by forced displacement and the collapse of Gaza's health infrastructure, including 71,338 cases of hepatitis.

UN rejects Israel's plan to manage aid deliveries to Gaza

The UN firmly opposed once again Israel's reported aid delivery control plan for Palestinians in Gaza via private US security contractors.

Farhan Haq addressed US President Donald Trump's Special Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff's unofficial briefing to the UN Security Council members on Wednesday, and stated that the UN was not "directly informed" about the briefing.

"I believe that this was something that individual members of the Security Council received a briefing on at the US mission yesterday. So, this was not an event at the United Nations," he said.

"The Secretary General has made it clear that the UN will not engage in any arrangement that fails to uphold the humanitarian principles of humanity, impartiality, independence and neutrality," he said.

Hamas targets two Israeli units in Gaza, inflicting 19 casualties

Hamas announced that its fighters targeted two Israeli military units in southern Gaza, killing and wounding soldiers.

Palestinian vice president meets Saudi crown prince in first foreign visit

Palestine Vice President Hussein Sheikh met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah on his first foreign visit since assuming office in April, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The meeting at the Al-Salam Palace focused on “the latest developments in Palestine and explored ways to strengthen joint efforts to support the Palestinian cause and the interests of the Palestinian people.”

It was attended by Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and several Palestinian officials.

The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization approved in April Sheikh’s appointment as vice president of the committee and vice president of Palestine.

Ihe Israeli army killed at least 16 Palestinians in new air strikes in Gaza, one day after it killed 100 Palestinians in a 24-hour period, according to medics.

EU rejects 'any attempt of demographic or territorial change in Gaza'

EU's foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said that any attempt at demographic or territorial change in Gaza is unacceptable.

Speaking at a joint news conference with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski Kallas said: “The majority of European countries agreed that the situation in Gaza is untenable and rapidly deteriorating, and these plans to intensify military operation in Gaza will lead to further suffering of civilian population.”

Rejecting forced displacement of Palestinian population, Kallas said: “We urge Israel to lift the blockade on Gaza immediately and ensure that the humanitarian aid reaches the people who are in need."

Noting that the bloc is urging Israel to immediately lift the blockade of Gaza and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, she emphasised that such aid must adhere to the core principles of humanitarian action, which are humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence.

'Individuals' behind rocket fire at Israel from Lebanon: Hamas

Palestinian resistance group Hamas blamed "individual" actors for firing rockets towards Israel from Lebanon after it handed over several people, saying it was committed to a Hezbollah-Israel ceasefire.

"The rocket launching incident was an individual act carried out by a number of young people... in reaction to the genocidal war and massacres committed by the Zionist enemy in Gaza," a statement from Hamas representative in Lebanon Ahmad Abdulhadi said.

"Hamas did not know about this in advance and did not decide to do this."

The statement added that Hamas is "fully committed to the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, and the movement's leadership has informed all Lebanese authorities of this".

Israel school closures in east Jerusalem 'assault on children': UN

The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees decried an "assault on children" after Israel closed all six of its schools in occupied East Jerusalem, months after an Israeli ban on its activities took effect.

"Storming schools & forcing them shut is a blatant disregard of international law", UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini posted on X, describing the move as "An assault on children. An assault on education".

UNRWA's director in the occupied West Bank, Roland Friedrich, told AFP that "heavily armed" forces surrounded the three UNRWA schools in Shuafat camp at 9:00 am.

Friedrich added that 550 pupils aged six to 15 were present when the closure was enforced, calling it "a traumatising experience for young children who are at immediate risk of losing their access to education."

Friedrich said police were deployed in the area around three separate schools in other parts of East Jerusalem, which has been annexed by Israel since 1967.
