Croatian Police Used Secret WhatsApp Group to Share Information On Detained Migrants
Since Croatia joined the Schengen zone in January, the number of migrants crossing its borders has spiked. And while some are seeking a safe haven in Croatia, most of them are using the Balkan route to go further west. But during their journey, they face pushbacks and arrests. Croatia has long been accused of sending asylum seekers back and now, according to a recent report by a Dutch non-profit journalism group, Croatian police are sharing sensitive information about the arrest of migrants on a secret Whatsapp group. Across The Balkans, hosted by Nafisa Latic, is TRT World’s programme that focuses specifically on the issues and fault lines shaping Southeast Europe today.
