‘This cannot and must not continue’: Germany calls for urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called for the immediate resumption of humanitarian aid to Gaza, citing worsening conditions for Palestinian civilians.

“No humanitarian aid has reached Gaza for a month. This cannot and must not continue. Far too many people are suffering from hunger, the brutal violence continues, and there is a lack of medical care,” he said at a joint press conference with Jordan's King Abdullah II in Berlin.

Scholz said the dramatic situation in the Palestinian territories—especially in Gaza—was the main focus of their discussion.

Arab countries decry Israeli assault on Syria’s sovereignty

Arab countries strongly denounced Israeli air strikes on Syria as a violation of international law and an assault on Syrian sovereignty.

In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry called the Israeli attacks “a flagrant violation of international law and a blatant infringement on Syria’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, exploiting the internal situation in Syria.”

Jordan’s Foreign Ministry termed the Israeli attacks “a blatant breach of international law, a stark violation of Syria’s sovereignty and unity, and a dangerous escalation that will only fuel further conflict and tension in the region.”

Gaza death toll passes 50,500 mark amid ceaseless Israeli attacks

At least 100 more Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air strikes in Gaza in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall death toll from Israel’s genocidal war since October 2023 to 50,523, the Health Ministry said.

A ministry statement said that 138 more injured people were also transferred to hospitals in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of injuries in the Israeli onslaught to 114,776.

At least 55 Palestinians more killed in fresh Israeli air strikes across war-devastated Gaza, medics said.

Israeli air strikes hit a residential apartment block in the Shejaiya neighbourhood in Gaza City, killing 20 people, a medical source said.

The source said five more people also lost their lives in Israeli strikes on homes along Al-Yarmouk Street in central Gaza City.

Chancellor Scholz says he ‘cannot imagine’ Netanyahu’s arrest in Germany

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that he does not expect Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to face arrest in Germany, despite an international warrant for war crimes in Gaza.

During a press conference in Berlin, Scholz responded to a question about Netanyahu’s controversial visit to Hungary and whether the Israeli leader could visit Berlin without risk of arrest.

“We have spoken about this several times, and I cannot imagine that an arrest would occur in Germany,” Scholz told reporters, without elaborating further.

Over 39,000 Palestinian children orphaned by Israeli war on Gaza

More than 39,000 Palestinian children have been orphaned by Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, official figures showed.

“Some 39,384 children in Gaza have lost one or both parents after 534 days of the Israeli genocide,” the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics said in a statement marking the Palestinian Child’s Day, which falls on April 5.

It explained that around 17,000 children have lost both parents in Israeli attacks in Gaza since October 2023.

Israeli forces raid Palestinian refugee camp in occupied West Bank, interrogate dozens

Israeli army forces raided the Al-Fawar refugee camp in the southern West Bank amid military escalation across the occupied territory.

According to witnesses, Israeli forces held dozens of youths for field interrogation at the camp south of Hebron city before setting them free. Clashes erupted between angry residents and Israeli forces, who used live fire and rubber-coated bullets to disperse Palestinians, witnesses said.
