Lebanese civilian killed in Israeli drone strike despite ceasefire

A Lebanese civilian was killed in an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon, in the latest violation of a November ceasefire agreement, the Health Ministry said.

The state news agency NNA said the strike targeted a motorcycle repair shop in the town of Taybeh.

The Israeli army confirmed the attack, saying it targeted Hezbollah commander Mohammad Adnan Mansour. The army claimed that Mansour was responsible for multiple rocket attacks on Israel's Upper Galilee during a recent conflict between the two sides.

There was no immediate comment from Hezbollah on the Israeli claim.

Israeli forces seen building positions in Gaza as they take more ground

Israeli troops could be seen clearing ground and building watch towers in parts of Gaza they have seized in recent days in a renewed offensive that the United Nations says has already captured or depopulated two-thirds of the enclave.

The army has issued repeated evacuation warnings to hundreds of thousands Palestinians in southern, central and northern areas since it resumed attacks in Gaza on March 18, forcing them into a diminishing space limited by the sea.

According to the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA, the total area seized by Israel or placed under evacuation orders now covers 65 percent of Gaza. In Rafah alone, 140,000 people have been displaced over the past two weeks, according to the International Rescue Committee aid group.

Israeli premier acted like 'crime lord' in dismissing Shin Bet chief: opposition leader

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acted like a "crime lord" while dismissing Shin Bet Chief Ronen Bar, opposition leader Yair Lapid said.

Former Shin Bet chief, Yoram Cohen, told Army Radio that Netanyahu had asked to disqualify former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett from Israel's Security Cabinet.

"Netanyahu tried to use the Shin Bet to plot and eliminate a political opponent," Lapid said on X, calling Cohen's interview with Army Radio an "earthquake".

"This is not the behaviour of a prime minister, this is the behavior of a crime lord."

Israeli forces demolish new Palestinian home in occupied West Bank

Israeli army forces demolished a new Palestinian home near Tulkarem city in the occupied West Bank, witnesses said.

Army forces forcibly evacuated Palestinian residents from the house in the town of Far'un, south of Tulkarem, and bulldozers razed it for allegedly lacking a building permit, they added.

Israel widely uses the pretext of a lack of construction permits to demolish Palestinian homes, especially in Area C in the occupied West Bank, which is under Israel's administrative and security control, and constitutes around 60 percent of the West Bank.

Macron rejects any Hamas role in post-war Gaza

French President Emmanuel Macron said Palestinian group Hamas should have no role in governing Gaza once Israel's war is over.

On a visit to Cairo to discuss the war, Macron said he was strongly opposed to any displacement of Palestinians, throwing his weight behind a Gaza reconstruction plan endorsed by the Arab League to counter a US proposal to send the war-ravaged territory's inhabitants elsewhere.

Speaking alongside President Abdel Fattah el Sisi in the Egyptian capital, Macron hailed his government's "crucial work on this plan, which offers a realistic path to the reconstruction of Gaza and should also pave the way for new Palestinian governance" in the territory.
