Israel's Netanyahu reverses decision to pick new Shin Bet leader

Facing criticism, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced the reversal of Vice Admiral Eli Sharvit's appointment as head of the Shin Bet security agency.

Netanyahu had named Sharvit on Monday, after dismissing incumbent Ronen Bar on March 21 due to a "lack of trust."

The Supreme Court had suspended Bar's dismissal until April 8, prompting further scrutiny of Sharvit's nomination.

Israel targeted Hezbollah official overseeing the Palestine file: source

A source close to Hezbollah has said an Israeli strike on Beirut's southern suburbs targeted an official overseeing Palestinian affairs in the Iran-backed Lebanese group.

The strike "targeted Hassan Bdair, Hezbollah's deputy head for the Palestinian file," who was "at home with his family" at the time, the source told AFP, requesting anonymity as they were not authorised to brief the media.

Lebanese president condemns Israeli strike on Beirut suburbs

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has condemned an Israeli strike on Beirut's southern suburbs, calling on international allies to support the country's right to full territorial sovereignty.

"Israel's persistence in its aggression requires more effort from us in addressing Lebanon's friends around the world and rallying them in support of our right to full sovereignty over our land," Aoun said in a statement released by the presidency, calling the strike "a dangerous warning" of intentions against Lebanon.

Momodou Taal, a pro-Palestine graduate student at Cornell University, has announced that he voluntarily left the US after facing deportation threats.

Taal, whose visa was revoked due to his participation in pro-Palestinian campus protests, wrote on X that he departed "free and with my head held high."

US lawmakers threaten UN with sanctions over Israel probe

Two US lawmakers, Jim Risch and Brian Mast, have warned of potential sanctions if the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) establishes special investigatory powers targeting Israel.

Palestinian teen dies in Israeli prison after months in detention without charges

A 17-year-old Palestinian, Walid Ahmad, died after collapsing in Israeli detention, marking the first Palestinian teen death in Israeli custody.

At least 322 children killed in Gaza after Israel ended truce: UNICEF

At least 322 children have been killed and 609 injured in besieged Gaza over the past 10 days after Israel unilaterally ended the ceasefire and resumed its genocidal war, the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) said.

"The ceasefire in Gaza provided a desperately needed lifeline for Gaza's children and hope for a path to recovery," said UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell.

"But children have again been plunged into a cycle of deadly violence and deprivation. All parties must adhere to their obligations under international humanitarian law to protect children," she said.

Over 1,500 humanitarian workers killed since start of Israel's war on Gaza

At least 1,513 humanitarian workers have been killed and hundreds of medical and civil defence facilities destroyed since the beginning of Israel's genocidal war on besieged Gaza, the Government Media Office in Gaza said.

"The number of martyrs from medical teams has reached 1,402, in addition to 111 martyrs from Civil Defense teams, bringing the total to 1,513 since the start of the aggression," the office said in a statement.
