Hundreds of illegal Israeli settlers storm Al-Aqsa Mosque

Hundreds of illegal Israeli settlers forced their way into the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in occupied East Jerusalem to mark the second day of the Jewish Passover holiday.

In a statement, the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem said 765 illegal settlers entered the flashpoint site in groups under the protection of Israeli police through the Al-Mugharbah Gate area, west of the holy mosque.

The agency said that nearly 500 illegal settlers stormed the mosque on the first day of Passover on Sunday

Illegal Israeli settler injured in car-ramming in occupied West Bank

An illegal Israeli settler was injured in a suspected car-ramming attack in the occupied West Bank, Israeli media said.

The public broadcaster KAN said the incident occurred near Dhahiriya Junction in southern Hebron city in the southern West Bank.

The Israeli army launched a manhunt for the driver, who fled the scene.

No details were yet available on whether any group was behind the incident.

An Israeli air strike hit one of Gaza's few functioning hospitals, resulting in the death of a child, according to the World Health Organization.

Since the outbreak of Israel’s war on Gaza, tens of thousands of Palestinians have sought refuge in hospitals, many of which have suffered severe damage in the ongoing hostilities.

"A child died due to disruption of care" at the al-Ahli Hospital in northern Gaza after a strike, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on X.

Israeli army releases 10 Palestinian detainees from Gaza

The Israeli army has released ten Palestinian detainees from Gaza, witnesses said.

The detainees were set free at the Israeli-controlled Kissufim crossing in eastern Khan Younis city in southern Gaza, they added.

The freed Palestinians appeared in poor health and were transported to the al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the central city of Deir al-Balah by Red Cross vehicles, according to an Anadolu reporter.

Hundreds of Israeli veterans joined thousands of soldiers demanding an end to Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza and the return of captives through a prisoner swap.

According to the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth, over 1,600 veterans of the Paratroopers and Infantry brigades signed a letter calling for the return of all Israeli captives held in Gaza, even at the cost of halting the ongoing war.

"We, the soldiers and commanders of the Paratroopers and Infantry brigades, whose flag bears the words 'No soldier left behind', call for the return of the hostages, even if it means ceasing hostilities. This is a call to save lives," reads the letter

Israel kills another Palestinian in Khan Younis

A Palestinian was killed, and several people were wounded in Khan Younis when an Israeli drone shelled a group of civilians.

The official news agency Wafa, citing medical sources, said one Palestinian fisherman was wounded as Israeli gunboats opened fire on Palestinian fishing boats off the Rafah coast.

The Israeli artillery also shelled the eastern areas of Gaza City, including the Zeitoun neighbourhood and the Sha'af area, the broadcaster said.

Germany says Gaza in ‘catastrophic’ state, urges return to ceasefire

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has called for an urgent return to a ceasefire as nearly 2 million Palestinians in Gaza face dire shortages of food, water, and medical supplies.

Speaking to reporters before an EU foreign ministers’ meeting in Luxembourg — where Middle East developments top the agenda — Baerbock described the situation in Gaza as “once again catastrophic”.

“Words cannot describe the humanitarian suffering of the people in Gaza. We urgently need to return to a ceasefire so that all hostages can finally be released and so that two million Palestinians, who yearn to finally be able to live in dignity, can move forward together,“ she said.

Israel kills five more Palestinians in Gaza

Five Palestinians were killed and several others wounded in an Israeli air strike on a home in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, according to the official Palestinian news agency, as Israel's genocidal war continued.

Quoting medical sources, the Wafa news agency reported that one Palestinian fisherman was also wounded as the Israeli gunboats opened fire on the fishing boats off the Rafah coast.

It added that the Israeli artillery continued to hit the eastern areas of Gaza City, including the Zeitoun neighbourhood and the Sha'af area.
