Houthis who struck near Israel's main airport, leading several international airlines to suspend flights there, have promised fresh missile strikes on the country's airports.
Yemen's armed forces "will target the (Israeli) airports, particularly the one in Lod, called Ben Gurion," near Tel Aviv, said a statement from the group's military spokesperson Yayha Saree, calling on airlines to cancel flights there.
Iran's Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh has said that Tehran would strike back if the United States or Israel attacked.
"If this war is initiated by the US or the Zionist regime (Israel), Iran will target their interests, bases and forces - wherever they may be and whenever deemed necessary," Nasirzadeh told Iranian state TV.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed a response to Yemen's Houthis and their Iranian backers after the group struck the area of Israel's main airport, injuring six people and prompting flight suspensions.
The military confirmed that the attack, which gouged a large crater in the perimeter of Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport, was launched from Yemen and had struck despite "several attempts... to intercept the missile".
In a video published on Telegram, Netanyahu said Israel had "acted against" the Iran-backed rebels in the past and "will act in the future".
"It will not happen in one bang, but there will be many bangs," he added, without going into further detail.
Later on X, Netanyahu said Israel would also respond to Iran at "a time and place of our choosing".
US warplanes carried out five air strikes in Yemen, the Houthi group has said.
Three air strikes targeted the Al-Sawad area south of Sanaa, Yemen's capital, the Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV channel reported.
Earlier, it said that two strikes targeted the Khab wa Ash Sha’af district in Al-Jawf province in northern Yemen.
No details are available on casualties or damage from the attacks.
A ship carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza which was attacked by drones in international waters off Malta early on Friday remains anchored in international waters while awaiting permission to dock, according to an aid official aboard.
The ship was secured in the early hours of the morning after a nearby tug assisted with firefighting operations.
According to a CNN report citing flight-tracking data, an Israeli military aircraft was flying over Malta hours before the ship was attacked by a drone.
Ismail Songur, head of the Mavi Marmara Freedom and Solidarity Association and a passenger on the ship, told Anadolu that the vessel of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition had departed from Tunisia with plans to collect activists in Malta before heading toward Gaza.
“Our aim was to raise awareness in European ports, coordinate with other ships, and increase pressure on Egypt to allow aid access to Gaza," Songur said.
He noted that the vessel is currently anchored 12 nautical miles off Malta and that volunteers from more than 20 countries are waiting to board. Among them are journalists, doctors, and humanitarian workers.
In response, Israeli leaders pledge forceful retaliation, with a high-level security meeting announced.
