Canary Mission's blacklist tactics target pro-Palestinian activists

Canary Mission, a group claiming to combat hatred against Jews on college campuses, posted a photo of Turkish student Rumeysa Ozturk on its website on February 6, leading to her arrest on Wednesday.

The group identified her as a Tufts University PhD student and claimed that she "engaged in anti-Israel activism in March 2024", referring to her opinion essay criticising her university's stance on Israel's war in Gaza.

On its website, the group targeted her, stating: "Rumeysa Ozturk engaged in anti-Israel activism in March 2024, in the wake of the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israelis on October 7, 2023 ... As of February 2025, Ozturk's LinkedIn said she was located in the Greater Boston area, Massachusetts."

Pro-Palestine activists disrupt UK business secretary's speech

Pro-Palestine protesters disrupted UK Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds' speech, demanding an end to the sale of F-35 jet parts to Israel.

"Four hundred Palestinians killed last Tuesday, 200 children — one of the largest massacres of Palestinian children in history. And they're selling F-35 parts. Suspend the sales, all of them, all the parts," one protester shouted as he was removed by security.

Another demonstrator yelled: "Stop arming Israel", "End the genocide" and "Free Palestine", accusing the UK government of complicity in war crimes.

The disruption took place while Reynolds was speaking at a global trade conference hosted by Chatham House in London.

Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said he backs imposing sanctions on anyone attempting to undermine the two-state solution.

"I am in favour of sanctioning those who seek to sabotage the two-state solution," Albares told Spanish broadcaster TVE. "That's why we unilaterally sanctioned West Bank settlers, and why it was Spain that brought this question to the table at the EU."

He noted that Spain and Ireland had also jointly called for the EU to review its Association Agreement with Israel over alleged violations of international law.

New US air strike campaign targeting Houthis more intense than last: AP review

A new American air strike campaign against Yemen's Houthis appears more intense and more extensive, as the US moves from solely targeting launch sites to firing at ranking personnel as well as dropping bombs in city neighbourhoods, an Associated Press review of the operation shows.

The pattern under US President Donald Trump reflects a departure from the Biden administration, which limited its strikes as Arab allies tried to reach a separate peace with the group.

It comes after the Houthis threatened to resume attacking "any Israeli vessel" and have repeatedly fired at Israel over the country's refusal to allow aid into Gaza.
