Dubbed the nation’s “security umbrella” in the skies, the system offers phased, integrated protection against low, medium and high-altitude threats, using a wide range of homegrown defence technologies.

“No country that cannot develop its own air defence system can look to the future with confidence,” President Erdogan said at Aselsan’s ceremony in Ankara on August 27, adding that with the Steel Dome, Türkiye is now “in a different league” in air defence.
